Yes, Im finally back

I have finally started my weight loss journey. It has not been easy, but for the past month, everything is working out fine. This journey was given to me by God. I know for some that sounds super religious, but thats exactly how things came to be.

I was sick for about 2 weeks with Gastrointestinal issues. I had a serious issue with diarrhea and stomach irritation. I couldnt eat anything without running to the bathroom after it hit my stomach. I was extremely upset... I wasn't upset with the issue, I was more upset that I couldn't EAT! That sounds funny, but for a plus sized woman that was a serious issue. The doctor put me on a strict diet and I followed it until my stomach got better and I was back to eating whatever I wanted. About a month later, I begin to eat out every day. I was backing it up at fast food restaurants and in drive thru's. One Thursday morning, I woke up to excruciating pain in my stomach and my back. I immediately starting vomiting and my stomach felt like it was on fire. It literally boiled and popped like I was going to explode! Everything that hit my tongue sent me in more pain and vomiting. The next day, I had a doctor's visit. It was the Gastrointestinal devil again. I also had a urinary tract infection. I knew exactly what my problem was. I needed to give up fried foods and if I had it, it was only to be in moderation. I had to pray and really ask God's help on this issue. I knew that he had already given me the tools to make it, I just had to be obedient.

I purchased a book called "The Diet Alternative" by Diane Hampton

This book was what I needed to get back on track. It was a biblically based book for a lifestyle change. It helped me to see things God's way. I am now delivered from overeating, condemnation and guilt. I eat to live and not live to eat. I stand before you almost 10 pounds lighter and almost 10 inches slimmer! I truly give God the praises for helping me out of this bottomless pit of food addiction.

Let's try this on for size...

Hey friends!

I have had this blog for sometime and never got started on it! Shame on me!I guess I should have started this a while ago, but never the less, I'm here!

As you can already tell, I am natural. I am in love with my natural hair and I am sooo glad I made this decision! I am approaching my 8th month Nappversary and im excited about it. I have heard many of my natural friends discuss going without "-cones" Silicones are laced in most conditioners and hair products. They are designed to cover the hair shaft and create a shine, but over time that turns into dull, lifeless hair. These cones block moisture and make it difficult for other hair products to combine with them. I have been using all natural products for a while, but i have not considered "Co-washes" I tried it in the winter and we allll know how that ended up! It was toooo cold to try that. Now since Summer is fastly approaching I want to try doing it again. I am a "suds" girl and im not sure how I will make it without washing my hair with shampoo (natural ones only) I would like to see what the rave is all about ( I know.. just shake me!) I have heard many people say how their hair has changed and actually recieves product alot better. I don't use anything overly harmful in my hair. I have stayed away from commercial products that strip your hair and cause harm to my stresses!

I currently use:
Giovanni 50/50 Shampoo
Giovanni Deep Moisture Shampoo
Giovanni Deep Moisture Conditioner
Giovanni Hair Styling Foam
Ghemet Biologics Alma and Heavy Cream
Ghemet Soft Hold Gel
Castor Oil
Moe's Growth Oil
Taliah Waajid Protective Mist bodifier
Taliah Waajid Lock it up (Tight Hold) Gel

I basically have a "Curly Girl Method" already started, I just dont Co-wash. I guess I have to develop a way to cowash my hair for work days. Saturdays are my wash days. I wash my hair Deep condish and twist it down. I dont like wash and go's because they leave me with no choice but to 'fro it. My hair in a fro leaves me with no options but to put a head band on it and go. I would like to keep my two-strand twists so my hair will not be so frizzy. Any suggestions?
